Copy Practice – Canperol Spritz

Disclaimer: This copy is in no way associated or endorsed by the Aperol® brand, its subsidiaries or affiliates. It is purely a speculative advert. The name Aperol® as well as related names, marks, emblems and images are registered trademarks of their respective owners.

As many UK Gen Z and millennials do, I enjoy the occasional Aperol Spritz®, but have always been struck by the gap in the market for this particular cocktail in a can. Other beloved cocktails, like pina coladas and passionfruit martinis, can frequently be found in supermarkets, but a lasting aperitivo spritz in a can, or something similar, is not easily accessible in the UK. With this in mind, I set out to design a rough sketch for the can, and wrote my own copy for my version, called a Canperol Spritz, as if I were writing for a supermarket website description. I set myself the limit of 175 words to convey the base facts about the drink and the company, and to sell a picture of social togetherness that is often associated with the brand.

CANPEROL SPRITZ

This versatile cocktail is now coming to your fridge in a spritzy can!

After a hundred years, the quintessential Italian aperitivo is filling the gap on your shelf, in a delightfully fizzy serving of summer, perfect for brightening long evenings around the barbecue or classy nights in with your friends.  For a refreshingly bitter kick just before dinner, late lunch or a boozy picnic, you know you can trust Canperol.

The Barbieri brothers’ original recipe solidifies Aperol® as a beloved brand throughout the world, so how about enjoying a few Canperols with loved ones and hitting the pause button on this busy life?

A perfect measure of classic Aperol®, prosecco and soda water make up this 200ml can, with its iconic orange colour remaining as vibrant as ever.  Enjoy straight from the can, pour over a glass with ice, serve with orange slices, there are no limits on imagination!

Please drink responsibly, and do not consume if under the age of 18.

Canperol.  A flexible way to enjoy a classic.
